As Southeast Asia’s first student venture fund, we have taken it upon ourselves to help build up the region’s student startup ecosystem. Our mission is twofold:
1. Invest in great Student Ventures
2. Groom amazing Student VCs to keep doing the same.
As such, at Protégé Ventures, you have the choice to either apply for funding as a Student Founder, or for training as a Student VC. We leverage on industry leaders in the regional startup ecosystem as well as experts in entrepreneurial education to prepare students for real world success in venture capitalism and entrepreneurship. Think you have what it takes?
SMU is excited to partner with Kairos ASEAN on this innovative initiative. The multi-sector collaboration will enable us to share SMU IIE’s knowledge with more students through the Kairos ASEAN network, and together bring more value to VCs and young entrepreneurs.

Since joining Protégé Ventures, my understanding of Venture Capital has accelerated. The industry mentors, case studies and hands-on work with student ventures have pushed me to be more critical yet collaborative. Helping student founders learn about fundraising, hiring, launch and growth strategies have been a definite value add for me.
